What is Horizontal Alignment
A horizontally mounted machine is the most frequent application regarding shaft alignment. In every industry, there are numerous installations, such as drives for fluid pumps, fans, gearboxes, transportation of goods, blenders etc. Most of the machines are critical components in the production process and every single installation requires precision alignment for optimal performance.
An unplanned production stop due to machine breakdown will result in production loss and high costs. Nearly 50% of all breakdowns in rotating machines are caused by misalignment.
Horizontal Alignment Products
Fixturlaser offer two systems that are perfect for conducting fast and precise Horizontal Alignment:
FIXTURLASER GO SYSTEM
The Fixturlaser GO system comes with all the basic shaft alignment applications in order to keep rotating machinery aligned. It performs horizontal as well as vertical shaft alignment. The horizontal shaft alignment application includes functions, such as e.g. SoftCheck™ (control of Softfoot condition) and Target Values (pre-defined values which compensate for the machine’s thermal expansion). With the Memory Manager the user can organise measurement results by creating files and folders.
FIXTURLASER XA SYSTEM
The Fixturlaser XA system is equipped with a 6.4 inch back-lit LCD colour touchscreen. The user interface is completely based on easily comprehensible symbols and graphics. No difficult terminology is used and the icons shown in the display are self-guiding, which minimises the risk of misunderstanding or misuse of the system.

Industrial Applications for Horizontal Alignment
In any application where there is a horizontal rotating shaft and coupling, there is an opportunity for misalignment between the driving and driven units - Fans, Pumps, Motors, Gearboxes, Turbines, Propellers, Conveyors, Presses, Extractors and Mixers, are all typical applications.
Application programs for horizontal and vertical shaft alignment, built-in target values and Soft Check™ are all standard in the Fixturlaser XA. Several expansion kits are also available to upgrade the standard system. Expansion kits are available for aligning machine trains and offset mounted machines, and for measuring dynamic movements. All additional applications use the same interactive user interface which makes it possible to perform the alignment faster than before.
The Fixturlaser XA uses CCD-technology for maximum speed and highest quality of measurement results. The new technology always provides an exact measurement result, regardless of where the laser beam strikes the detector.
